Surveys are the most direct way to gather insights into the mindset of your athletes.
Sent directly to the App, Surveys allow you to ask questions of your athletes, who in turn answer using engaging tools.
Getting Started
To start, click ‘Tools’ on the Dashboard menu. You will arrive at the Surveys page where you can create and view any surveys created by your organization.
To create a Survey that you can administer with your athletes and teams, click the ‘Create Survey’ button.
Building Your Survey
You will now be taken to a page that will require you to follow a number of steps:
Step 1: Survey Details
Enter a title for the Survey and a Description that summarizes what the survey is about.
Step 2: Mandatory Options
Determine whether the survey is mandatory or optional. If you make a survey mandatory, the user will not be able to access any content within the OMP App until they have completed the survey.
If Yes – Users cannot complete any other actions on the App until they complete a mandatory survey.
You can choose to when this begins to be enforced. You can also choose when to stop accepting survey responses.
Step 3: Responses
Now set the parameters around the users’ responses. Do you want the survey to be anonymous or not. Or if you want to allow users the ability to retry the survey. If a user retries the survey, it will replace their previous responses with new ones.
Step 4: Survey Builder
Similar to the exercise builder, when building a Survey you can choose to add the following elements:
- Audio Snippet – Upload an audio clip to introduce an activity or discuss a specific topic.
- Video – Embed a video to provide context or instructions for the activity.
- Text Field – A simple open-ended response field where users can write their answers. You can set character, word, or sentence limits.
- Likert Scale – Allow users to rate themselves on a scale in response to a question.
- Multiple Choice – Provide a set of answer options, with the ability to limit or allow multiple selections. You can select from two different visual styles for Multiple Choice – A standard list or a word Bubble.
- Numbered List – Enable users to create a ranked or sequential list based on your prompt.
- Image/Image Gallery – Single or multiple images for the user to view relating to the Survey or a certain topic.
- Sliding Scale – Single or multiple sliders for the user to score on scales related to your question.
To add one of these elements to your survey, click ‘Add New Step’.
The survey builder gives you a full license to add as many or as few of these elements as you desire.
Regardless of how you choose to build your survey, each element must have a title and a description/question attached to each.
Once you have added all of your questions, click ‘Save & Continue’.
Step 5: Set App Access
Now that you have built your Survey you can decide who has access to it.
To determine who has access to your Survey you will need to answer this question: Do all app users have access to view this Survey?
- Yes
- If you leave it as Yes, all Users within your organization with access to the App will gain access to this Survey.
- If you select Yes but choose Exclude Users, you can allow all Users to access this Survey item, except for the users you choose to Exclude. For example, you want every athlete to access it, except for one specific team, you exclude that team.
- No If you have selected No, then you must determine the exact Users, Groups or Teams that do have access to your content.
Once you have chosen who can access the Survey, click ‘Save & Continue’.
Step 6: Dashboard Access
On this page you can determine which Dashboard users can edit and access this Survey.
In the drop-down menu you can choose either Private or Public.
Private allows you to grant access to the various parts of the Survey – Access, Responses, Recipients and Analytics.
Access permissions for each area can be set to Full, View or No Access for all of your Dashboard users except for the Dashboard Owner or Dashboard Admin.
When making your Survey Public, permissions then revert to the default permissions of the role of the dashboard user. For example, a Viewer or Contributor roles have no edit access to the Survey.
Once you have completed the Dashboard Access, click ‘Save & Continue’.
Step 7: Review & Publish
You can choose when your survey will be published. You can publish the survey immediately, meaning it is available to your users right away, or you can schedule it to publish at a specific time and date.
You can also choose to save as a draft.
Once you have decided, click ‘Save and Continue’. If you want to abandon your Survey, you can click ‘Cancel survey’.
Step 8: Survey Complete
You have successfully created a Survey.
If you have chosen to publish your Survey immediately, go ahead and send your athletes a Push Notification so that you can start to receive responses.
